The first rank is called the white belt. If you're a white belt, you're a brand novice to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu so you do not have much control. It is very risky to train with because of your inability to control yourself. Many martial arts belts are available online. The next highest ranking is called the blue belt. It usually takes around two years to achieve the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt. Once you have reached the stage of blue belt, you're now capable of defending yourself by getting out of positions and attacking your opponent in self-control, avoiding the injury of the opponent and you.
The next ranking includes a purple belt. When you reach the purple belt level, you are able to play the full game. You are able to attack from any location and defend yourself easily.
The fourth rank includes the brown belt. Brown belts have made their own rules and are well-versed about everything. You're comfortable at any level and have put your individual style in every aspect of your life.
The fifth and final rank will be the black belt. The time required to attain the black belt is between 8-10 years. Once you've obtained your black belt, the studying of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu truly begins.
Many masters of great fame say that their journey started by earning a black belt. It is continuing for as long as they've adhered to the ancient Brazilian style of fighting.
